Scrub-a-dub-dub! Loofah sponges are the dried, fibrous insides of a type of gourd, and are an environmentally friendly alternative to synthetic sponges. Our loofah gourds are grown on our farm without the use of any pesticides. Because they have such an open structure, they are fabulous for scrubbing pots and pans because they rinse clean easily. The fibers are strong, yet gentle enough to use on non-stick coatings. When you've finally worn out your loofah, just toss it in the flower bed or compost heap - ZERO WASTE! We recommend that you store them in a way to allow drying between uses, which will discourage the growth of bacteria and give your sponge longer life. You can even sanitize with a rinse in white vinegar. Size varies slightly because, well, mother nature, but we only send you those that pass our "size specifications," which basically means the size we would want to use in our kitchen! (Each of these discs is approximately 2 inches thick.)
